In the 8th Century, Bishop Aubert of Avranches began to build a church atop an island where Brittany and Normandy meet. Over the years, Mont St Michel has been added to and served many uses. Presently home to a small Benedictine order.

This is wonderful. I went to Mont St Michel on a school trip when I was about 12 and loved it. I think I need to go again with my camera! x
